My garden seems to have become infected by black spot. Infected
plants range from roses to poppies and even my rosemary bush. I
think the infection has been there since last summer, but I've only
just realised what it is. How can I treat it??? |

|
From Alex M, UK
Hi Sharron, the main way to alleviate your problem is 'good gardening
hygiene' , by that I mean get rid of the dead/fallen leaves as the
disease hibernates in these. Remove the affected leaves and get
them off your property and certainly do not put them in the compost
heap,as this will add to your problems. Hopefully next season your
plants will be relatively free of the problem. I am led to believe
that 'Roseclear 2' has some affect on the problem but I cannot vouch
for that as I have never used it, but then again I don't have 'Black
Spot' . Best of luck.......A

I am having some problems with my apple trees and roses. They both
have black spots on them. Is there something I can get for this?
I know it will not save the apples now, but maybe I can do something
now for next year. Hope you can help me.

Hi Norah,
I have read that tea tree essential oil can be sprayed , 10 drops
to 4 litres of water, as it anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-anything
else you care to name! Worth a try, and if this fails, well take
comfort in knowing that blackspot only occurs in relatively unpolluted
areas - my roses used to suffer but no longer do so.

I have some plants with black spots on the leaves - any idea what is going on? Any help would be great! |

From Mr Clark, UK
It could be the same black spot you get on roses - try treating it as one would for roses.
