Questions & Answers - Caterpillars

Caterpillars on Broccoli From Christine, UK

I have a lot of caterpillars on my broccolli. How can I get rid of them ? Also when harvested how can I be sure that the caterpillars are all gone ?

From Margaret, UK
Try using Bug Clear - a bug spray to control greenfly, caterpillars, ants and other bugs on flowers, fruit and vegetables. It is available at Homebase and most garden centres.

Caterpillars
From: Noreen, UK

All our plants are being eaten by green catepillars. Can you give any advice on how to get rid of them effectively without killing off our plants? I would appreciate your advice.

From Sarah C, UK

Non chemical methods of control can be used against some caterpillars, especially when they occur in small numbers on a few plants. The simplest and most effective method is to examine plants regularly and crush eggs and caterpillars when you see them (this may seem cruel but it is a lot more harm than insecticides).
