Welcome to the Gardeners Club

Have you ever stumbled across something in your garden that has taken you by surprise? This area of the site allows you to submit photo's of the strange, curious and unknown plant varieties that have come to call your garden home. Gourd plant

From Gardeners Club Member
That plant is famously called Mickey Mouse in Asia but the true name is Nipple Fruit - Solanum mammosium.
Nice for flower arrangements with twigs......

This plant has grown in random places throughout my garden. They are beginning to get rather big. They look like they are about to flower but then more leaves appear. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Its the euphorbia (caper spurge)

From Penny, UK
The extra leaves are actually the flowers - Euphorbia Lathyris -it is commonly called a Mole Plant, Caper Spurge or Sassy Jack. The sap can cause mild irritation.

I think it is 'cordyline australis' or 'cabbage palm'.

From Sue, UK
Hi, we have one just like yours.
We purchased it from Cornwall around 4 years ago, and like yours is sprouting from the top.
It reminds me of a palm tree, I have cut ours back from the bottom, part of the way up, which makes it look more like a palm tree.
My mum thinks that the seeds are produced from this?

From Andrew & Melissa
I also have two of the same Corderline Palm, This year one has flowerd but the other has not, can anyone tell me how this comes about and what special treatment it needs if any ??

From Gardeners Club Member
I agree - I have one approx 3meters high and in flower

Could you please offer me any suggestions, I would be very grateful.
