Michael has twenty-five years training and practical gardening experience. He successfully runs his own landscaping and garden maintenance business operating on both domestic and commercial contracts.


Michael gained his formal training at Hampden Hall College of Horticulture where he gained Distinction in the City & Guilds Horticulture Stage I and II diplomas. The College awarded him the Jean Midgely cup for 'Plantsman of the Year'.


After a period in retail, as General Manager of Woods Garden Centre, Berkhamsted, he went to Hertfordshire County Council responsible for ground maintenance of municipal properties.


Michael earns his living by his gardening skills. He actually does roll his sleeves up and do the work. The Gardeners Club gives you the opportunity to tap Michael on the shoulder and ask him about what he's doing and recommending to improve your garden.
