I don't actually have a problem with Horsetail, however I do have a problem trying to source it!! I see that many of your Gardeners are plagued with the weed and I wondered if anyone would be kind enough to pass some on?

I am not completely mad (!?), I make my own natural cosmetics and horsetail is a vital ingredient for a nail gel that I am creating!! I would appreciated anyone's help and would be happy to pay costs etc.

Kind regards

Clare,
I have to take issue with your comment in this month's newsletter about only maybe now your gardens are getting beautiful .....my favourite time of year is February! This all started when I accidentally discovered the Horniman Museum in London one February. The garden just seemed to be at its best - winter bark showing off and the odd splash of colour with cyclamen etc. Snowdrops and the growth of spring bulbs get me excited but i know that really this is the best time - ANYONE can have a pretty garden in May, but to have a fantastic space out there in winter is far more interesting! Dogwood - boring at any other time of year; winter pansies; but few evergreens. I will be at the forefront of any campaign for winter gardens! - oh and yes, you can spend a lot more time in front of a fire and looking out of the window at them instead of battling weeds!

Hi Guys,
I just had to send you this wonderful picture from my friend in Canada, when I got this she said it had been snowing for 4 days.

Dear Claire,
Hope you had a good Christmas.
Happy New Year and best wishes for the whole team.

Just wanted to point out that in my experience bug boxes mainly attract spiders, so any good bugs finding their way there are promptly dinner for said spider. Threw both of mine in the dustbin !!!!

What do other people think?

Dear Clare
I would like to congratulate you and your committee for the best website on gardening and help?I have just started gardening?so I have got lots of tips and useful information from the Gardeners Club, so thanks once again Ray
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT NEWS LETTER.

Hiya,
I just wanted to tell you I think your website is fantastic! I have just moved house and with the house came a beautiful garden full of wonderful plants, with a greenhouse and a pond to boot! The problem is that I don't have a clue about gardening and I'm determined to learn. My uncle tells me gardening can be a great healer and escape. I'm sure I will learn much from using your site, so thank you. The only thing I'm a bit confused about is how to become a member of the club. Is that achieved simply by adding the site to my Favourites?

Yours,

Angie

RE: Late September Newsletter

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites?
Surely its the other way around... a slim chance of winning means he still has a chance...a fat chance is a definitive nochance..

Supposedly, the phrase “rule of thumb” is derived from an old English law, which stated that a husband could not beat his wife with anything wider than his thumb!
No .. The rule of (the) thumb is approximately one inche wide and two inches long....your hand is 4 inches wide...your foot is approximately 12 inches long....from your nose to the end of your fingers tips is one yard or three English feet and what everyman thinks is 6 inches is actually only the length of your little finger.......Regards David R
