Welcome to the Gardeners Club

June 2004
This months winner...Sue Cale
I'm pleased to attach several photos of my garden taken during June, featuring herbacious borders, viburnum, montana clematis, alliums. Three projects have been the beautiful rose arch and rose trellis constructed from fir trees which we cut down two years ago which is now resplendent with red roses and a large koi fish pond which my husband has just completed.

The garden is enclosed by several trees including silver birch, and cherry trees. Shrubs include climbing hydrangea, wisteria, spirea, pieris forestii, acer, hypericum, lilac bushes, ribes, philadelphus, hebes, laurel, mallow and magnolia Susan. Climbing roses, honeysuckle, clematis, delphiniums, lilies, pansies, etc fill the gaps. Foxgloves and euphorbias grow really well in the shade with hostas and aquilegias.

We have a pile of logs which the wildlife love (from the felled fir trees!!), 2 bird tables and 2 bird baths, and shrubs such as buddlea to attract the butterflies. Other visitors include foxes and squirrels.

I'm currently busy completing hanging baskets, and patio tubs with bedding plants grown from seed or cuttings including geraniums, trailing fushcias, verbena, nicotiana etc. The greenhouse is full of tomato plants, dwarf french beans and herbs.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.
