Welcome to the Gardeners Club

April 2004
This months winner...Andrzej Zieleniewski from Salisbury

The photos submitted were taken throughout April in both the front and back gardens.
The front garden is south-southwest facing and gets plenty of sun. Just over half the width of 28ft is put to lawn and beds. There are plenty of bulbs, most of which are left permanently in the ground This year, the tulips have been exceptional.
The back garden is 170ft long and consists of a patio area with a small pond just behind the house, and a large area of lawn edged by bushes and shrubs further back. A lot of the boundary is deliberately left wild and is a wildlife corridor - there are lots of frogs, toads, newts, slow worms and the occasional grass snake.
The bushes attract large numbers of small birds - house sparrows are still quite abundant. At the moment they have a resident mole. Rather surprisingly perhaps, it has not thrown up any significant new mole hills this season even though it is still around. The photos submitted are of containers on the patio area

If you think your garden could be up for next month's title, use the information on the main 'Garden Of The Month' page to let us know all about it.
